National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest hands-on volunteer
effort to improve and enhance the public lands American’s enjoy. In 2006,
about 100,000 volunteers built trails and bridges, planted trees and
plants, and removed trash and invasive plants. Join us Saturday,
September 29, 2007 for the 14th annual National Public Lands Day
(NPLD) and help us care for our land.
The PV Park Volunteers and 4-H Conservation Club will be hosting a National
Public Lands Day event at Pleasant Valley Park from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
We will be building trails, cleaning up trash and doing an invasive plant
removal project. At the end of the event, food and refreshments will be served.
There also will be a prize raffle of various items donated by local businesses.

National Public Lands Day Sixth Annual Volunteer Photo Contest
Take pictures of fellow volunteers lending a hand to our public lands to win prizes
and have your work put up on the NPLD website. There are two categories for amateur
photographers: 17 years and under and 18 years and older. Learn more about the contest, and view previous winners.
The winning photos will be published in the future NPLD newsletters, posted on
www.publiclandsday.org, used in press releases and potentially featured in other
national publications. In addition, the photos will have the opportunity to be
incorporated into next year's NPLD publicity poster, brochure and certificates.
An external review committee will judge the photographs. Prizes will be determined.
